Spanish conversation and pronounciation (45 h)
The aim of this course is to provide students with opportunities to practice, develop and perfect their oral expression in everyday situations. At the same time, the course aims to improve the student's Spanish pronunciation through various listening and articulation activities, always with the goal of effectively integrating the student into the communicative process.
Minimum level of Spanish language required: Beginner
METHODOLOGY
This is a practical course where in each session, you will learn various functional and lexical exponents that will be practiced in conversations with your peers. Additionally, you will also study intonation, rhythm, and the correct pronunciation of sounds in Spanish.
ASSESSMENT SYSTEM
Attendance and active participation in class: 40%
Oral exam first part: 30%
Oral exam second part: 30%
Fluency and pronunciation shall be considered, as well as suitability for the communicative situation and language accuracy required for the level.
SYLLABUS
• Strategies and resources for participating with greater fluency in real conversations. Specific functions to develop the macrofunctions associated with oral language: describe, explain, give your opinion, express likes and emotions, compare, assess. Differentiation of registers.
• Current vocabulary and idiomatic expressions that are frequently used in various areas of everyday and professional life.
• Intonation and its nuances. The syllable and the rhythm in relation to intonation. Vowel sounds and consonant sounds. The place of articulation of the most conflictive consonants in Spanish: labial, dental, alveolar, palatal, velar Considerations on the main varieties of Spanish.
